Biography

Young-Hoon Ahn received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Chemistry from Pohang University of Science and Technology (Korea) in 1999 and 2001. He then completed his Ph.D. in Bioorganic Chemistry from New York University in 2007 with Professor Young-Tae Chang. His research focused on chemical synthesis of a fluorescent rosamine library and its screenings to identifying bioimaging probes. His post-doctoral work was completed in Pharmacology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine with Professor Philip A. Cole. His post-doctoral research focused on redox sensitive signaling pathways that are modulated by a thiol-reactive chemopreventive phytochemical, sulforaphane. He began his faculty position in the Department of Chemistry at Wayne State University in 2012.
