The Central Instrument Facility maintains a collection of shared modern 'small' instruments for use in both research and teaching situations. Training is primarily on an as-needed basis. Use of the instruments is via. reservation using the Departmental Resource Manager. Usage fees (minimal) are collected to offset the cost of various operational expenses.

Current Instruments Include:

• • Varian/Digilab Excalibur 3100 High Resolution FT-IR with NIR, Far-IR, and Varian 400 UMA FT-IR Microscope capability.

• • JASCO V-570 UV/VIS/NIR Spectrometer w/ integrating sphere and other accessories.

• • Perkin-Elmer 341 automated Polarimeter
  
  
• • Varian 50 Bio UV/VIS Spectrophotometer
  
  
• • Perkin-Elmer AAnalyst 700 Atomic Absorption Spectrometer with flame and graphite furnace capability.
