Wayne State's WIDER Grant to be Funded by NSF!

Great news! NSF has agreed to fund WSU's WIDER Grant for which Andrew Feig is PI. The project entitled, "Evaluation of WSU Use of Evidence-Based Methods in STEM Instruction" will be a 2-year project to study the attitudes of STEM faculty at WSU regarding teaching and their classroom practices. Associated with this analysis, there will be workshops on Evidence-Based Teaching Methods (EBTM) to assist faculty in the adoption of these methods in their classrooms. The team of PIs include Peter Hoffmann (Physics), Karen Myhr (Biology), Bob Bruner (Mathematics) and Matt Ouellett (OTL). More on the campus events associated with the WSU WIDER program will be forthcoming on the project's website: WSU-WIDER

July 24 Congressional Briefing

Andrew will be spekaing at a briefing entitled:

"The Landscape of Undergraduate STEM Education Reform: A Snapshot of Current National Initiatives"

to the House STEM Education Caucus on July 24, 2013 from 12 - 1:30 pm at Rayburn House Office Building, Room B339. Please help support the efforts of the AAU, APLU, BHEF, and RCSA and the Cottrell Scholars Collaborative  to transform STEM Education at Colleges and Universities around the country.  If everyone does a little bit, we can catalyze big changes in the way STEM courses are taught at the college level and have a huge impact on STEM education nationwide.
