General Information
Wayne State University is a Carnegie I institution and the Chemistry Department maintains very productive graduate and undergraduate programs. Currently, the total graduate student population is about 170 and there are about 30 postdoctoral fellow researchers in the Department. During the past three years nearly 60 Ph.D.s and 150 Bachelor's degrees in Chemistry have been awarded. Our 27 faculty members bring in approximately $4.5 million dollars in external funding and five of our faculty members are listed among the 1,000 most-cited scientists in the world.
