Dr. Ksebati has worked in the NMR & EPR Core Facility of the Lumigen Instrument Center for 25 years. Through initiative and hard work, he created and developed customized standard software applications and pulse sequencing programs for the five NMRs, which allows users to increase their efficiency and productivity. He offers several levels of training workshops and courses. These courses include the mechanics of performing NMR experiments as well as NMR theory and its experimental application in solving molecular chemical, structural and mechanistic information. By tutoring students in advanced NMR strategies (2D and 3 D NMR spectroscopy), users learn to elucidate complex molecular structures. He has isolated over 100 marine natural products and organic compounds and determined their structure by NMR spectroscopy. This structural information has been used to elucidate the chemistry and biological activity of these natural metabolites. Being awarded the WSU College of Liberal Arts and Science Presidential Bounce Service Award reflects his successes as the Manager of the NMR Laboratory.
